The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office is the custodian to contact about a specific BCCF intake record, admission or release record, or sheriff-held booking photograph. Direct a written request to the Records Access Officer and identify the record type, person, and approximate date.

Choose the Right Office
One agency cannot answer every Barnstable County record question. Start with the event and custody system involved.
- For a BCCF record or sheriff-held photo, use BCSO Records and the county booking-record path.
- For a Barnstable, Falmouth, or Yarmouth police log, arrest report, or police-held image, contact that municipal police records office.
- For a warrant or later case event, use the proper District Court clerk and the official court docket instructions.
- For Massachusetts state-prison custody, use Massachusetts VINE or the Department of Correction Records Access Officer.
- For federal custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator; for qualifying immigration custody, use the ICE detainee locator.
- For an urgent safety issue or a sighting tied to a wanted notice, call 911 or the number on the official notice.
